Warrenton is a town on the rise, with big plans and achievements. The city’s pro-business stance has brought a number of specialty stores and restaurants to the area, while low property taxes, good schools, and affordable land has attracted families of all sizes. Warrenton is also at the “back door” of Missouri wine country, making a weekend getaway fun and easy.
The City of Warrenton was birthed from a strong, independent, pioneering spirit. Settlers of German, French, English, Irish, and Spanish heritage shaped the land as well as its citizens to become this city we call home. We owe our city’s very foundation to a group of savvy business men and a stubborn court clerk named, Carty Wells.
The neighborhood has rail and highway access to Interstate 70. It is approximately an hour drive from downtown St. Louis.
Residents take part in a variety of physical activities, with numerous parks and sport venues. A 20-minute drive from Katy Trail and close to wine country, every season can be enjoyed outdoors.
History fans can visit the The Ernst Schowengerdt House and the Warren County Historical Society Museum, or see a movie at the historic Belle Starr Theater. The Scenic Regional Library is also popular, hosting a number of community events for kids, teens, and adults—including a Ted Talk series.
From festivals, sporting events and live music to art shows, stage productions and special exhibits, you'll find a variety of events to enjoy when you visit the City of Warrenton.
Warrenton is part of the Warren County R-III School District. The neighborhood offers higher education through East Central College and Lindenwood Univeristy at satellite campuses.
