Fun Events in St. Louis This Fall 2025
As the leaves change and cooler weather settles in, St. Louis comes alive with festivals, markets, and seasonal celebrations. Fall traditions resume, offering residents and visitors more reasons to explore the city. From outdoor festivals to indoor comedy shows, here are highlights of the season that bring the community together.
Greentree Festival | September 12 – 14
Kirkwood’s Greentree Festival began in 1961 as a way to restore trees lost to Dutch elm disease. The first festival invited residents to plant trees, many of which still stand in the suburb’s parks and neighborhoods. Over the decades, the event blossomed into a three-day tradition featuring live music, a vibrant parade, dog shows, artisan crafts, food booths, and more. It remains one of Kirkwood’s signature celebrations.
St. Louis Renaissance Festival | September 13 – October 26
The St. Louis Renaissance Festival returns for its 27th season in 2025, transforming Rotary Park in Wentzville into the lively 16th-century village of Petit Lyon. Guests can immerse themselves in a world of royalty, revelry, and adventure, complete with costumed performers, artisan markets, and interactive experiences for all ages. Rain or shine, weekends at the festival offer a chance to step back in time and enjoy an atmosphere filled with music, merriment, and the spirit of the Renaissance.
The Great Forest Park Balloon Glow and Race | September 19 – 20
One of St. Louis’ most idyllic events, the Great Forest Park Balloon Glow and Race, remains the oldest and largest free balloon event in the country. This mid-September event will feature food trucks, wagon rides, a fireworks show, music, and more fun for the whole family.
Fright at the Museum | October 1 – 26
Spine-tingling wonder takes over the City Museum during Fright at the Museum. A skeleton crew, wacky witches, and other Halloween haunters light up the stage with family-friendly shows. Plus, there are not-so-spooky stories and tales of triumph for all ages. Adults can elevate their night at Coven & Cauldron, a witches’ pub serving magical brews, or embrace the shadows at the Vampire Bar, where Blood Bag cocktails and Zombie Shots await.
Best of Missouri Market | October 3 – 5
Best of Missouri Market® is an opportunity to discover the work of talented artisans, support local business owners, and simply enjoy the fall weather. This large, outdoor market at the Missouri Botanical Garden welcomes over 150 vendors.
