Fox Theatre | November 13 – December 29, 2024
More than 15 million people have passed through the brass doors of the Fox Theatre to see Broadway shows, Vegas performers, top pop, rock and comedy concert acts, and classic movies. It opened in 1929 as a movie palace, was renovated from 1981 to 1982 to be a performing arts center, and continues to provide St. Louis audiences with something for everyone.
This season, the Fox Theatre is showing:
- Peter Pan from November 13 – 24.
- Chicago from November 29 – December 1.
- A Magical Cirque Christmas on December 20.
- Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer on December 21.
- Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet on December 22.

Garden Glow | November 16 – January 4, 2025
Annual traditions are in full bloom at the Missouri Botanical Garden, one of the nation’s oldest botanical gardens in continuous operation. The garden offers 79 acres of beautiful horticultural display, including a 14-acre Japanese strolling garden, historic architecture, and one of the world’s largest collections of rare and endangered flora.
Setup for the twelfth-annual Garden Glow began in July, as it takes months to put up more than two million lights. From November 16 – January 4, you and your friends and family can celebrate the season with great photo opportunities among dazzling installations. Santa will be there on select Monday and Tuesday evenings, as well! Reserve your own fire pit with s’mores and hot chocolate, and enjoy a variety of snacks and beverages at locations along the Garden Glow path.
Winterfest | November 23 – December 31, 2024
As a nonprofit conservancy, the Gateway Arch Park Foundation, founded in 2009, provides funding for the Gateway Arch National Park’s ongoing conservation and preservation, as well as educational opportunities for students, educators, and the public. The foundation also brings people together by hosting events, like Winterfest, which is back for its ninth year.
This multi-week festival held at Kiener Plaza captures the spirit of the season with ice skating, s’mores stations, and igloos underneath 100,000 twinkling lights in the shadow of the Gateway Arch. Princesses and superheroes are also making special appearances on select days.
Winterfest kicks off with the Winterfest 5K and Festival of Lights on November 23 and closes with its Neon Nights fireworks spectacular on New Year’s Eve, December 31.
Saint Louis Ballet: The Nutcracker | November 30 – December 23, 2024
Since its opening in 1975, the Saint Louis Ballet has been dedicated to advancing the art of ballet in St. Louis. When trailblazer Gen Horiuchi joined in 2000, he grew the nonprofit organization from a small civic company that held one production each year to what it is today: a resident ballet company that stages five artistic productions each season at the Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Its performances reach over 17,500 people annually.
This ballet’s production of The Nutcracker, a beloved classic, features spectacular dancers, over 170 costumes, and 100 pounds of snow dropped throughout the show. It is running from November 30 – December 23, and a one-hour version called The Nutcracker: A Shorter Tale is on December 2.
St. Louis Symphony Orchestra | December 8 – December 22, 2024
The nation’s second-oldest orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, reaches audiences through its varied concert opportunities. They perform a wide range of music, from the Baroque era to music of today and popular and film music. On average, the orchestra holds 120 concerts at its home in historic Powell Hall and dozens of additional performances in the St. Louis region each season. Renovations and a 65,000 sq. ft. expansion of Powell Hall are expected to finish in 2025, so until then, they are strictly performing in venues throughout the community.
Bring friends and family to see:
- Multi-platinum Irish singing sensation Celtic Woman’s Christmas Symphony at Stifel Theatre on December 8.
- Grammy Award-winning a cappella group Take 6’s IN UNISON: Christmas at Stifel Theatre on December 13.
- The Muppet Christmas Carol in Concert at Stifel Theatre from December 14 – 15.
