Fun Events in St. Louis This Winter 2025
Cold weather doesn’t slow St. Louis down. From dazzling light displays to outdoor festivals and family-friendly shows, the city transforms into a lively winter destination. Here’s a look at some of the best events to enjoy this season.
Fox Theatre | November 4 – December 23
Add grandeur to the winter season by enjoying the ornate design and captivating performances at The Fabulous Fox Theatre. Each show brings something special to the stage, from heartfelt dramas to classic holiday favorites. This year’s lineup offers plenty of reasons to enjoy a night out in one of St. Louis’ most iconic venues, with:
- The Notebook from November 4 to 16
- Les Misérables from November 18 to 23
- The Wiz from November 25 to December 7
- A Christmas Story from December 12 to 14
- NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet from December 21 to 22
- A Magical Cirque Christmas on December 23
Garden Glow | November 15 – January 3
The Garden Glow dazzles visitors year after year with its exquisite light displays. More than 2,000,000 twinkling lights adorn the Missouri Botanical Garden’s iconic locations. While you’re here, you can enjoy s’mores and festive drinks. Add a delicious meal or reserve a fire pit to enhance the evening.
You can also meet Santa and the Winter Sisters on select nights. Jingle and Mingle on November 21 is for ages 21 and older, and attendees can snap a selfie with the Mean One himself.
Winterfest | November 22 – January 11
For the 10th year, Winterfest is bringing back all the fan favorites to Kiener Plaza. There’s ice skating, s’mores stations, and heated igloos underneath 100,000 twinkling lights in the shadow of the Gateway Arch. The heated igloos can be rented and feature comfortable seating for up to 6 people.
You can try hockey, say hi to princesses and superheroes, and enjoy New Year’s Eve fireworks. The Winterfest 5k kicks off the festivities and is accompanied by a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk.
Wild Lights | November 28 – December 28
See what’s new at the St. Louis Zoo. At this year’s Wild Lights, you can meet and take pictures with Santa and shop the Holiday Market, which carries festive ornaments and souvenirs. You can still bask in the glow of twinkling light displays and stroll hand in hand while sipping hot chocolate. Kids can also make a craft to take home.
A few animal exhibits are open during the event. The family can waddle into Penguin & Puffin Coast, warm up in the Insectarium, and look up in awe as California sea lions and harbor seals swim overhead at Sea Lion Sound.
St. Louis Symphony Orchestra | December 27 – 31
The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra brings a touch of holiday magic to Powell Hall to finish out the year. Home Alone in Concert, from December 27 to 28, will show the hilarious, heart-warming classic with a delightful score performed live. Then, on December 31, you can break out the bubbly with their sparkling New Year’s Eve Celebration.
Loop Ice Carnival | January 24
In 2026, you can meet up with friends in the vibrant Delmar Loop for their 19th annual Loop Ice Carnival. Enchanting ice sculptures, dazzling ice carving demonstrations, and an electrifying drone show await. Meet and greet Louie, the St. Louis Blues Mascot, and see if you can score like a pro at the Blues Street Team Slap Shot Game.
Those seeking adventure can participate in the Temporary Tattoo Scavenger Hunt. Visit participating businesses and collect temporary tattoos throughout the carnival area. It’s a fun and interactive way to explore the event and win a prize.
